for Excellence
Philadelphia Charters for Excellence (PCE) is launching a chief executive officer search to recruit a dynamic, collaborative, and entrepreneurial leader, an effective fundraiser, and a strong advocate who embraces the PCE’s vision that every Philadelphia family has equal access to a high-quality charter school.
Founded in 2011, PCE has grown its membership, and today 80 out of 83 public brick-and-mortar charter schools (single-site and network schools) are PCE members that collectively educate over 63,000 public school students (36 percent of all public school students in the City of Philadelphia) at 101 campuses across Philadelphia. PCE students are 60 percent Black, 18 percent Latino, 13 percent White, 3 percent Asian, and 5 percent Multi Racial.
The chief executive officer reports to the board and will develop a formal strategic vision for PCE that positions PCE as a key player in improving educational opportunities and outcomes for students in Philadelphia. The vision will include an examination of the organization’s revenue and funding model, advocacy activities, member services, and value proposition.

Philly House has launched the Director of Development search to recruit a collaborative leader and effective fundraiser.
With 144 years of experience, Philly House is the second oldest homeless mission in the country and the oldest in Pennsylvania, housing some 220 men each night. We open our doors every day with a welcoming spirit of Christian compassion, walking alongside the homeless, hungry, and hurting people of Philadelphia with mercy, dignity, and respect. We provide more than just a safe space, a warm bed, and a hot meal. The Director of Development provides overall leadership, vision, management, direction, and guidance to the development and fundraising program of Philly House in concert with the President/CEO and the Board of Directors. This position requires experience in leadership, fund development, and direct work in a nonprofit. Main responsibilities include developing and implementing the annual development plan for the Mission, including direct mail campaigns, Major Donor solicitation and cultivation, grant management, annual giving, sponsorships, special events, online giving, and donor database management.

LEADERSHIP Philadelphia, whose mission is to mobilize and connect Philadelphia’s professionals to serve the community, seeks an effective and talented leader to become the Chief Executive Officer.
Founded in 1959, LEADERSHIP Philadelphia (LP) has a long history of achieving transformative changes by convening, informing, and inspiring a diverse group of professionals who collaborate, connect, and take action to address community needs. Nearly 5,000 individuals have graduated from LP’s programs. LP is the hub of a diverse group of professionals across sector, race, gender, and age, and the model for over 1,000 community leadership organizations. LP is governed by a 30-member board of directors representing the private, nonprofit, and public sectors. The organization is funded primarily by program fees, supplemented with funds from events, alumni donations, and some foundation grants.
Reporting to the board, the Chief Executive Officer works in partnership with the board to set strategic directions and leads the staff to implement the organization’s priorities. The CEO promotes the organization and develops, maintains, and strengthens key relationships as a hub of diverse connections that benefit the City of Philadelphia.

With a mission of the school is to develop leaders and generate new knowledge to solve the world’s toughest public policy challenges, the University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy (the Batten School) seeks an experienced, creative, and energetic professional to serve as the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.
This position plays a critical role by leading and supporting comprehensive branding, new educational program development, marketing, engagement, and communication strategies that advance the mission and priorities of the Batten School. The position reports to the Dean and is either located in Washington, D.C. or Charlottesville, Virginia.
Now in its fifteenth year, the Batten School generates knowledge that addresses pressing public policy challenges and broadly prepares students for ethical and effective leadership and public service. Executive Director

Law Center
The Public Interest Law Center has launched an Executive Director search to recruit a dynamic and collaborative leader and effective fundraiser who embraces the Law Center’s mission and high-impact litigation approach.
The Executive Director will join a winning and highly successful civil rights law organization with a national reach. The Philadelphia-based Law Center uses litigation, community education, advocacy, and organizing to secure access to fundamental resources and services. The Law Center has numerous wins across its six practice areas: employment, environmental justice, healthcare, housing, public education, and voting. Its most recent victory involved the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court declaring that the state’s current public school funding system unconstitutional. The Court also declared that education is a fundamental right. The Law Center also provides technical support to empower communities advocate for solutions to the issues they face.
The Executive Director reports to the board and manages three direct reports and a 17-person staff. The ED will be expected to provide strong leadership internally and externally by overseeing the budget; to develop relationships with staff, board members, funders and donors, law firms, and pro bono attorneys; to exercise humility, diplomacy, and conviction; and to lead by example with intellectual curiosity an inclusive and active listening style.

Director of Environmental Planning

Lehigh Valley Planning Commission , https://www.lvpc.org/, official planning commission for Pennsylvania’s Lehigh and Northampton Counties, seeks a thoughtful and collaborative leader to become the Director, Environmental Planning.
The fastest growing region in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Lehigh Valley is home to three cities and 59 communities and known for a high quality of life and recreational and cultural amenities. Led by Becky Bradley, its dynamic and highly effective Executive Director, and based in Allentown, the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission has a committed, talented, and engaged staff of 18 employees with a $3-million operating budget. The team is entrepreneurial, innovative, highly motivated, and cross-disciplinary.
The Director, Environmental Planning oversees the planning, development, and administration of environmental programs of all organizational, administrative, and financial activities. The Director manages a team of professional planners and engineers and collaborates with a wealth of third-party developers, engineers, scientists, academics, nonprofit advocates, and government agencies. The successful candidate must have a master’s degree in environmental science,
environmental planning, environmental engineering, or equivalent experience. The individual must have 10 years of experience in planning, at least two of which should include supervisory experience. American Institute of Certified Planners certification, Professional Engineer’s license or a related professional license, is required for this position or must be obtained within one-year of employment.

Deputy Senior Director of Research

Formed 10 years ago, CGEP has a mission is to provide timely, data-driven analysis that enables public and private sector leaders to make more informed choices about the world’s most pressing energy and climate issues. CGEP delivers best-in-class academic research in formats and timeframes that are accessible and useful outside of academia and bridges the gap between academic research and policy. Scholars and fellows – senior energy experts from government, academia, industry, and nongovernmental organizations – are frequently called upon to provide policy makers and global business leaders with information, analysis, and insight.
CGEP has created a new position, the Deputy Senior Director of Research to drive cross-functional research initiatives and to collaborate with 50 scholars across 12 research areas. The individual will maintain their own research and awareness of CGEP’s research activities and will identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration.

Managing Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA)

Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) is searching for its inaugural Managing Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) to drive the Center’s intersectional DEIA strategy, action plan, and assessment. Regarded as a premier hub and policy lab for global energy thought leadership, CGEP is on a growth trajectory to advance smart and evidence-based energy and climate solutions through research, education, and dialogue, and to equip leaders to make effective decisions.
The Managing Director will work in partnership across the Center to advance DEIA, serving as an essential advisor and influential strategist to members of the Center’s executive leadership team. The individual will conceptualize, develop, implement, measure, and evaluate cohesive DEIA initiatives across CGEP. The Managing Director will also serve as the Center’s resident DEIA expert and accountability champion while each member and each team of CGEP supports the implementation of the DEIA strategic plan and works to contribute to an inclusive, welcoming, diverse workplace with a culture of belonging for faculty, researchers, staff, students, advisory board members, and external stakeholders.
The Managing Director must have strong domain knowledge of DEIA best practices with an ability to build strong and collaborative relationships, and to exercise persuasion with outstanding interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills are essential. Strong influencing and community engagement skills is a must. The Managing Director also must possess proven experience translating a vision and strategy into a practical plan with concrete methods of implementation and measurable outcomes, including using data to make decisions.
